Maison de la Nature

Quartier Saint Jean
83340 Les Mayons
Tel. : +33 (0)4 94 50 80 81

The Château des Mayons, a fine late-18th-century residence below the village, houses the Maison de la Nature nature centre.

This departmental centre is set in 2 hectares of meadows and olive groves between the Maures massif and its plain, with plenty of room for donkeys and other farm animals (chickens, goats and sheep). Many events are organised throughout the year, including nature excursions, workshops, activities, exhibitions, and conferences on nature-related topics. Children love the many varied programmes: exploring the sweet chestnut groves of Les Mayons by donkey, all there is to know about spiders, and getting to know donkeys (meeting, caring for and feeding them), to name but a few.  Booking is required for the activities: the programme is available on the Maison de la Nature Facebook page.

Opening times

Open 2pm-6pm Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday to the general public, and by appointment for groups.
